SCALE has now cataloged almost all of our print resources using the online database, LibraryThing.  SCALE members can search through our print collection and request book chapters.  Please see instructions below for how to find and use our LibraryThing collection.  Please see the next tab “Book Chapter Request Form” to request a book chapter from our library.

Library Thing and How to Use It

Librarything.com is a useful online tool and database that SCALE uses so that members can look up specific books that are in SCALE’s physical library.
How to Use It:
Step 2: A list will be displayed (see image below) of all of the reference books that are currently in
SCALE’s library. You can also use the search bar and use that to search book titles, tags, authors, etc.

Library Request Form

This form is for SCALE members requesting for a book chapter from our reference library.
  • We will use this email to send a scanned copy of the requested book chapter.

SCALE members can now access all of our recorded webinars, adobe training presentations, and America Reads Literacy Tutor Training plans on our Sakai site.  Members should receive an email with an access link.  Follow the link and create an account using the “non-onyen” login.  This should be one login that can be shared with your organization (if you have an organizational membership).  Once on the Sakai site you can navigate to the resources by clicking on the ‘Wiki’ button on the left sidebar menu.

If you have not received your member access email please email the SCALE staff at readwriteact@unc.edu.
